Argentina's state-controlled energy company YPF is advancing a pilot plan to drill 12 horizontal wells in the Vaca Muerta shale formation's Meseta Buena Esperanza block. The US$160 million project, announced in late July 2026, is designed to supply natural gas to the Argentina LNG megaproject.
