TANDAG CITY – Government troops killed a suspected high-ranking New People’s Army (NPA) leader and captured another member in an encounter in Marihatag, Surigao del Sur on Monday. Army Maj. Reymar Inotao, Civil-Military Operations officer of the 401st Infantry Brigade, said troops from the 75th Infantry Battalion and the 3rd Special Forces Battalion engaged NPA members operating under the North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NEMRC) in Barangay Bayan.
