Shania Twain’s music career is officially coming to the big screen as Sony Pictures gears up to release a biopic based on the life of the country-pop icon. International outlet Deadline reported on Wednesday, June 3, that the upcoming biopic, titled “Shania,” will be written and directed by filmmaker Leah McKendrick, who is known for the indie comedy-drama “Scrambled.” Sony, meanwhile, released “Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and is behind Sam Mendes’ upcoming “The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event.” Twain herself is also attached to the project as a producer alongside Amie Karp.
