MANILA, Philippines — Several areas across the country are forecast to experience “danger” level heat indices on Sunday – Mother’s Day – May 10, the state weather bureau said. According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), heat index pertains to the “apparent heat” or how hot the body feels relative to the air temperature and humidity. For Sunday, heat indices ranging from 42 to 44 °C are expected in 26 stations nationwide. In Metro Manila, heat indices may reach up to 42°C in Pasay City and 41°C in Quezon City.
