MANILA, Philippines – Senator Mark A. Villar has filed a bill seeking to expand access to guidance counseling and psychosocial support services for Filipino students amid rising concerns over youth mental health issues and the shortage of guidance counselors in schools. Villar filed Senate Bill No. 2133, or the proposed Studentsโ Guidance Counseling Act, which aims to institutionalize and strengthen school-based mental health programs in educational institutions nationwide.
