The leaders of the United States, Japan, Australia and India aim to hold a meeting of their so-called Quad grouping by the end of the year, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Wednesday. In his testimony to the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Rubio added that the Quad summit might take place on the sidelines of another multilateral gathering in the Indo-Pacific region. “We have a lot we’re working on together with them and seek to expand it,” he said during the panel’s hearing on President Donald Trump’s fiscal 2027 budget request for the State Department.
