MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. attributed the decrease in the crime incidents they recorded to the agency’s “institutionalized reforms.” Focus crime incidents decreased by 16 percent from 4,495 cases from Feb. 22 to April 5; down to 3,776 cases from April 6 to May 18, according to Nartatez in a statement on Tuesday. “This 16-percent drop is not a temporary dip but the direct result of institutionalized reforms, data-driven deployments, and strict resource accountability,” Nartatez maintained.
