MANDAUE CITY, Cebu — The Pasko sa Mandaue celebration officially opened on Friday night, November 28, with the ceremonial lighting of the city’s Christmas tree at the heritage plaza. Mayor Thadeo Jovito “Jonkie” Ouano and Congresswoman Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon led the event, which also featured a fireworks display to mark the start of the Christmas festivities. This year’s holiday setup includes a 17-meter Christmas tree, a giant Santa Claus house, large “Christmas” and “2025” installations, a massive red ribbon adorning City Hall, and rows of lanterns and other festive elements throughout the plaza.
