CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Residents in Oriental Mindoro may experience another round of rotational brownouts on Wednesday after the province’s power supply remained below demand levels, according to the Oriental Mindoro Electric Cooperative (Ormeco). In a power advisory, Ormeco said the Mindoro grid was facing a “critical power shortage” as electricity demand reached 75.20 megawatts (MW), while available supply remained at only 62.30 MW. Because of the deficit, the cooperative warned that affected areas could experience a “second round or more” of manual load dropping (MLD) throughout the day.
