BACOLOD CITY–Residents of Central Negros may face higher electricity rates next month due to tightening power supply conditions, the local utility said. Negros Electric and Power Corp. (Negros Power) issued an advisory on Wednesday, warning that a limited electricity supply in certain areas of the country could drive generation costs up in the upcoming billing cycle. The utility acknowledged the financial strain that price hikes place on local communities, stating it recognizes that upward adjustments in electricity rates directly impact both households and businesses.
