LUCENA CITY — Taal Volcano recorded a minor phreatic, or steam-driven, eruption early Friday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). In its latest bulletin, Phivolcs said the eruption at the volcano’s main crater occurred at 4:46 a.m., although the agency did not specify how long the activity lasted. The event, locally referred to as “pusngat,” generated a 300-meter-high plume that was captured by the main crater’s IP camera monitoring system.
