The American player Iva Jovic stopped Alex Eala’s French Open 2026 campaign in the first round with a straight-sets win, 6-4, 6-2. Both players created nine break point opportunities. But while Jovic converted six out of nine (66.7%), Eala could only manage to convert three (33.3%). Jovic will face another American, Emma Navarro, in the second round at Roland Garros, the year’s second Grand Slam. Navarro dispatched of another Southeast Asian player, Indonesia’s Janice Tjen, who lost also in straight sets, 4-6, 3-6.
