MANDAUE CITY, Cebu — As diesel-powered jeepneys benefit from the national government’s fuel subsidy program, drivers of gasoline-powered units are hoping they, too, will be included in the discounts amid persistently high fuel prices. Jeepney driver Steve Tangub said gasoline-powered jeepneys are not receiving the same level of fuel subsidy support as diesel units, leaving drivers like him to shoulder rising fuel costs without additional assistance. “Naapektuhan sad mi, mahal baya kaayo ang gasolina, apil sad unta [sa discount],” he said.
