TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN, Philippines — Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon vowed to have a year-round dredging and desilting operation for the Pinacanauan-Cagayan river confluence along Gunnacao street in this city. Dizon, who inspected the ongoing works here on Tuesday, said the national government’s Opan Kontra Baha project will continue to alleviate flooding as the city has been a catch-basin of excess water from Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino provinces. Aside from desilting, declogging and expansion of waterways and canals, clearing operations will also be continuously done, Dizon added.
