Live-read sponsorships on podcasts would be included in proposed online advertising restrictions to gambling ads, officials confirmed in Senate estimates, which independent senator David Pocock said would be a 'bonkers' situation requiring podcasters to upload multiple versions of a podcast. Under the proposed restrictions, streaming platforms can only have gambling ads for users who are over 18 and have logged in and must allow users to opt out of seeing or hearing such advertisements, in order to prevent children hearing those ads
