Suicide has become the second leading cause of death for people ages 10 to 24 in the U.S., and Congress has taken steps to provide resources to those struggling with thoughts of suicide, including the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, which has helped over 16.5 million Americans since its establishment in July 2022.
